The Witch and the Necromancer - Surreal Landscape Painting

$ 450.00

Something's wrong in the town. The symbols of this problem are in the four suits of the Tarot--Cup (spilled), Wand (on fire), Sword (broken), and Coins (empty baskets in the foreground). The witch , whose home is the moth house, makes a poppet to focus on the deceased individual who is disrupting the town's good; she easily floats over the cemetery. The necromancer, whose home is the horned tower, plants his spiritual feet in the same cemetery; he can raise up spirits with one hand (ascending node) and put them back down with the other (descending node).  The connection with the Underworld is emphasized in this painting by the yawning pit, out of which grow three poppies full of night dreams. A difficult ladder leads up from below, but someone has successfully climbed it. The townsfolk lie awake in their homes, awaiting the results of the magic workers.

The original surreal landscape painting is 16 x 20" on heavy cotton watercolor paper and should be framed behind glass or acrylic.
