Rose Moon Spirit Surreal Landscape Painting and Prints
I love painting the Moon, but in addition, I enjoy trying to capture its spiritual essence. In this painting, I wanted to emphasize the moon as part of the landscape and originally intended to do that by having a small crescent be the only item in that cushion of rosy sky. But then the image of this white, petal-like structure came to me, and I knew it represented the spirit of the Rose Moon, which occurs in June. I've been trying to incorporate a lot more color in my paintings, to allow the color to form the image instead of relying so much on lines, and this painting is a good step in that direction, I think. I love the combination of pale blue and pink; something just glows about them. This painting is linked to Sunwheel.
The giclee prints are on 100% cotton archival fine art paper, colors are matched to the original by the artist, and they are signed on the back. The original acrylic painting is 18 x 24" / 46 x 61cm on birch panel and was shown at the Art League Rhode Island Associate Members Exhibit 2017. It is gallery profile and ready to hang.
