Summer Landscape Painting
When I lived in upstate NY, I used to drive up Route 15A to Rochester sometimes. I loved seeing the fields of small farms in the rolling hills. This painting is based on photos I took some years ago of a field where toadflax (aka butter and eggs) was growing along the edge, brightening the yellow of the grasses. It makes me think of summer, so I called it that.
The original oil painting is 16 x 20"/41 x 51cm on cotton canvas with a 1.5"/4cm profile.
