Morning Star Small Oil Landscape Painting SOLD
The Morning Star (which is usually Venus but can sometimes be Mercury) is often identified with Lucifer/Phosphorus, the Light-Bringer, in witchcraft. The Light-Bringer's name comes from the fact that the Morning Star always appears in the east just before sunrise, as I have pictured it here. In some witchcraft traditions, Lucifer is the companion of Diana, the goddess of the Moon; I've noticed that when the waxing moon is rising, you might well find the Morning Star/Lucifer nearby. Even if you do not believe in the Old Gods, the Morning Star has a great beauty.
This painting is 5 x 7"/13 x 18cm oil on panel. It is ready to frame.
